#3 has a big conflict of interest. For ex. unless everyone in the tournament enters the pool, you sometimes will have higher equity forfeiting matches, sometimes even when you still have a chance to win the tournament. Making hedges that can total greater than 100% of your action during an event is usually frowned upon.
