Biba now plays legal moves only and since I adopted it (thanks, Phil for your help) I have not had a single problem. I must admit I am like Neil and don't like to profit from an opponent's 'mistake'.

Prior to the rule being in force one player came up to me in a tournament and asked that if his opponent accidentally placed himself on the bar is it OK to insist it stays there. I said yes, it is within the rules but do you really want to profit from such an action? You bet! he said. Happily he did not go on to win the match.
