In Response To: Improved Cube Handling in Races (John O'Hagan)

Hi John,

I do not round down. It is sufficient though, to keep only the existence of a fraction in your mind, an adjusted pip count of 71 thus turns into 71 + 11 5/6 = 82 + something.

Having said this, I do not add 1/6 of the roller's adjusted pip count at all, but rather use equation (6) on page 23, which is equation (13) on page 25 and also mentioned in the summary. Hey, having CPWs was one of the main objects of my investigation! By design (and merits of my transformation formula), this equation along with the percentages for the doubling window gives exactly the same cube decisions as the decision criterion in section 5.2 on page 16.

Best regards

Axel
