I didn't mean that a person with learning difficulties should be given that potential aid (of being informed of the away score). I meant that it shouldn't be considered as an aid for anybody.

Marking the laps to go in a track race, the kilometres or miles left in a road race, the score needed to check out in darts, or the time remaining in a basketball or football game; all these should be available to the participants.

Unlike all other calculations, if someone can't easily work out the points they and their opponent need to finish the match, or are prone to get it wrong, this information should be readily available to them and all - like on an away scoreboard for example. It just seems intrinsic to the contest.
