... if that body is purely dedicated to the game and its promotion and not pursuing any personal interest. I, for my part, would applaud such a body.

About 10 years ago, during the Monte-Carlo tournament, there was an attempt by Liz Barker to bring all major organizers together at one table. Many particpated, some didnīt, and one person sent amessage through Martin and Bambi de Bruin to the rest: "Iīll do tournaments wherever I want and whenever I want and I am not interested in your gathering."

That specific organizer is still active and as you can see, itīs pretty difficult to unite the backgammon world around one body, as long as this mindset exists.
