"Condemn" is a bit much. Unless you show me somebody trying to become a television mogul, and changing the rules in the middle of scheduled competitions.

Bridge has taken advantage of the internet, of all things, to deliver the major events to anybody who wants them. Just look at what Bridge Base Online or Ourgame(Chinese provider) has done with the Bermuda Bowl. With no rights fees being charged. Local promoters, and national associations, benefit from this top down approach.

As opposed to the laughable balkanization we currently see in backgammon, as european promoters fire their miniature squirt guns at each other. A strong worldwide federation, given current technology, is easily the best way to promote the game.
