Joe,

TD's have an obligation to know the rules and implement them correctly, whether it is uncomfortable for them or not.

Don't take on the responsibility of organizing a tournament unless you can and are willing to do so.

I think having rules unevenly applied or not applied is far more damaging to backgammon than criticizing a TD who, may have / appears to have, not administered the rules properly because they decided to tell a whole bunch of people it would be a great idea to dine far away.

Joe, let's invite all the TD's of all the tournaments you attend to DQ you for something you shouldn't be dq'd for. Then go on and don't complain because it would be bad for backgammon.
