In Response To: ABT action - 2014 Atlanta probation (Rod)

Rod, I don't think I've failed to grasp the situation. An error was made, and I don't defend it. But I do sense a lack of proportion in many of the posts here, and a failure to grasp the reality that TDs are essentially volunteers, and while they should apply the rules in an evenhanded manner (and I have no reason to think this was not done in Atlanta), they need to be given some slack. They are not paid refs.
