I cite the USBGF elo ratings of their novice division as a flaw in their calculation. As I understand elo, it's suppose to be a number that roughly corresponds to the skill of the owner. But the leader of the USBGF novice division has an elo which would place her 5th among the USBGF Open division people. To me, that means that either the USBGF elo calculation is flawed (my belief), or that the novice division leader has no business playing among novices. She should compete in the Open division. Ditto for a few others.

I advocate "average ABT points per tournament entered" as a better method of tackling the sandbagging issue.
