I disagree. In a longer match you'll have more cube decisions, and potentially more lopsided scores which are more tricky to play. It is harder to maintain a high focus in a long match than in a short match so it is to be expected that more fatigue related errors occur in a long match, etc.
My median (and mean) is below 4 online.
In live matches my median is slightly above 4. This is based on a sample which compared to my online sample is very small. Perhaps if I recorded more live matches my live median would change and become lower than my online median, but I somehow strongly doubt this.
It could also just be the case that having the pipcount available online is making all the difference for me. Even though I can count pips, I still find it very convenient and a big help to always know the pip count without having to work for it.
