You are correct. I actually never read it that closely because, while I prefer rolling the old-fashioned way, if my opponent prefers a box or a tube I'll play with a box or a tube. I have far bigger things to worry about. It occurs to me that I never answered Phil's original question however. From my lowly perspective I thought the new rules were good. Not giving a tinker's damn about baffle boxes and tubes, I do however feel strongly that legal moves should be played. If that is not the norm elsewhere I hope it becomes so.
