I'd prefer a touch move rule also, but until we have one, I will occasionally move my pieces and then take a look at the position if I feel that doing so will help me make my decision.

I'll point out my opinion that as we introduce rules that make the game more difficult to play we risk losing players or not gaining players or, if it becomes touch move only in Open/Masters then some players may balk at moving up.
