What is the best (fairest and most efficient) way to tie-break 4 player round robins?

So, basically, no proof will be provided, as expected. To be fair, I read opinions you gave links to. I think such a system has a right to exist, but this is a totally different game with different objectives. Saying it is fairer or is fair is a stretch. In fact, there are far more problems with it than with the backgammon systems we are used to. Mochy gives an example that shows problems with your(?) system. Jacking up the cube value for no reason related to backgammon other than just to amass enough points to propel themselves into next round(s) is not how this game is played.

In your [points won]-[points lost] tiebreak proposal, or a proposal where players pay for each point lost in a match, objectives may change. It is not too hard to imagine a situation where a player is better off to give up on his match-winning chances in order to save some money. Again, this is not how the match play goes in backgammon.
