Interesting perspective! So virtually all tournaments since 1964 (and perhaps earlier) got it completely wrong in using match-play backgammon with the Crawford Rule? And all the massive work carried out since the mid 1970s on developing Match Equity Tables, and developing opening theory at the match score was a misguided waste of time? And we should now all follow the enlightened path that Garalgammon offers us, and jettison the major body of backgammon knowledge and science carefully built up by thousands upon thousands of players, analysts and authors over the last 50 years or more? The answer to these questions is short in my opinion - "yes" is too long by one letter.
