In Response To: my take on the situation (Bill Riles)

Of course Mitrelis should never have ever touched Ed's checkers to correct his earlier illegal moves, but having been allowed to he likely felt that was OK here.

Ed rolled 6/1 and played 8/7 quickly and then played 18/12 and then played 12/11.

So Mitrelis may have assumed that Ed intended to play the poor 18/12 rather than the clear 19/13.
