I didn't suggest rolling for it. I simply listed it as one possibility among several, without endorsing it (and I don't).

As to using LM v NLM as a criterion for choosing where to play, why would this reflect on anyone's love for backgammon? When players choose a tournament, there are a LOT of criteria. Events, location, hotel, travel arrangements, dates, TD, LM/NLM, clocks, etc.

Beyojnd that, if someone hates playing tournaments, that doesn't mean they hate backgammon. It means they hate playing backgammon tournaments. Same with clocks or LM or whatever.
