Suggested Idea for Performance Grading

Hello All,
After a nice discussion about this idea with Rick, I wanted to say I wholeheartedly embrace the concept, but am wondering if it might need some tweeking.
I think having to record more than 10 straight matches is very cumbersome and agree therefore should only be applied to the Grandmaster category.
Most crucially, I don't think an average or mean PR should be used by a median PR. This means that one won't be disqualified because in one match you missed that a certain number hit or miscounted the race or decided you just wanted to take in a hopeless position because you thought this was the best path to victory against this particular opponent.
Using the median number PR number of the 10 matches (i.e. the average of the and 5th and 6th best matches played) would allow the outlying matches to be essentially discarded, and show more accurately how the individual USUALLY plays.
Next, but a less important point, I wonder if a candidate master shouldn't be a different category as I feel that a player who plays at 5.9 is a hell of a lot different in skill and knowledge then one who plays at 4.3.
Hence I would propose Candidate Master should be a median PR of 5.5-4.5, while master should be 4.5-4.0 and International Master should be under 4.0.
Then as I don't like the term Super Grandmaster I propose, Grandmaster for under 3.5 and International Grandmaster for under 3.0 with the last titles requiring in 20 matches each. Also I think for these categories using a Median PR is even more important otherwise, one big oversight could ruin your chances for the whole 20 match window.
Hope this all makes sense
Jason
