Any Director is free to make any event Baffle Box Preferred. When enough players feel as strongly about it as you (now) do, that will happen with increasing frequency. In the current environment, I find there are more players opposed to baffle boxes than in favor. While I have a slight preference for baffle boxes, I have a strong preference for growing the game while not alienating our current base of players.

I think Optional is right for now. I think Preferred will be right in a few years. The rules are not going to be static.
