In Response To: I agree with Bob here (Mochy)

I agree with Bob and Mochy. Discussing anything that has happened in the past, during a break, so long as it does not shed light on anything that might happen going forward in the match, seems like something that should be fine to do.

But the problem is, if I tell Mochy that the reason he should have passed is because he is way ahead in the match and he should be more conservative with the cube, isn't that giving him coaching during the match? And if I tell Mochy that he should have doubled because I know that Malcolm is the kind of player that usually drops too much when he is ahead in the match, isn't that coaching?

So it is very difficult to draw the line as to what constitutes a discussion about previous plays and what might be applied going forward.

Now, we all know, that a discussion with Mochy, or Bob or a top player isn't going to affect his play going forward, but certainly a discussion with a lower-level player about what he has done in a match so far might give him insights and direct help for the rest of the match.

Having said that, I am pretty much against rules that cannot be reasonably enforced and that are generally broken by almost everyone, so I would prefer to see the rule say something like this:

Players may not receive help or coaching of any kind during a match, including breaks. During dinner breaks, however, it is understood that players may discuss previous cube and plays with others, and that is acceptable so long as the discussion does not include coaching or advice that is clearly applicable to the rest of the match.
