Of course there will be someone who has such a belief. The question is whether any sizable minority of people would consider such a belief to be reasonable. These rules, by adopting Legal Moves attempt to strike a balance between good sportsmanship and the fact that there must be a clear limit set for when a correction due to noticing an illegal play is mandated and when it is too late to mandate it. So anyone claiming that failing to allow a later correction is bad sportsmanship must also say what the remedy should be in terms of the rules - how late should too late be, and why is that choice better than the one already chosen. Previously, without Legal Moves, it was argued that "never" was too soon as a time limit for correction and the remedy suggested was Legal Moves. Numerous people were convinced of the merits of that remedy, so it has been widely adopted. To my knowledge, the proposed USBGF Rules has the most generous time limit for correcting illegal plays anywhere. Perhaps someone might make a convincing argument for lengthening the time limit even more. However, I seriously doubt it. So when the overwhelming majority of players agree that it is too late under any reasonable rule set, there will be no public support behind any claim of bad sportsmanship; in fact I suspect that the one making such a claim will be more likely to look like the bad guy.
