Sounds good. So now I'm back to wondering why the second clause is needed in this rule:
"A player automatically loses the match when it is noticed that their reserve time has expired, unless they may validly claim the game and match at that moment."
Of course, nobody likes losing on time. And directors surely don't like enforcing a loss on time. But if clocks are going to be effective you need some kind of rule.
The second clause moves the goal line (very slightly) but also makes it fuzzier. (I can easily directors having a different idea of what constitutes a "valid claim" and players having a different idea than the director.) Rich's example was a situation where the clock was mishandled earlier in the match. Was that the reason there was a valid claim to the win?
My experience is that simple rules work better unless there is a clear reason for a longer rule. I don't see a clear reason here. The underlying problem is that people don't like losing on time and the extra clause does nothing (really) to alleviate that.
